Under Water
Compared to so much of Atlanta, our water spill was minor. None the less, it was kind of scary watching that creek rise and spill over it's banks! Here are a couple of photos. The first one is after it receded a lot. The water was up to just flowing over the bridge which has now shifted off of it's foundation. The second is at the peak.
Carter - Two Months Old!
Carter was 2 months old on the 14th of September. It's so hard to believe! I know people always say that but it never ceases to amaze me how fast it goes! At his 2 month appointment he weighed 10 lbs. 10 oz. He had doubled his birth weight plus. Other than the development of reflux, Carter has been very healthy and happy. He is pretty content most of the time. I had a sweet Mommy moment the other night. Carter was so fussy because of the reflux discomfort and John was holding him. I walked over to and asked if John wanted me to take him. He stopped crying and looked up at me with a huge grin and reached one arm toward me with a pointed finger. (The arm part was a total fluke but none the less.) Those smiles are the biggest reward that God gives us with little babies when we are so tired from lack of sleep and we are wondering if we are doing the right things! This last week, Carter really started to entertain himself with the play mat and bouncy seat. He will just hang out and smile while he watches the toys. He is cooing some but the most noise he makes is when I'm late with the bottle. He gets that bottle in his mouth and just starts to grumble at me! Parker still loves him so much! He loves to lay on the chair and have Carter snuggle up on his chest. We are having a blast- life is good!
Parker's Triathlon
On September 13, Parker participated in the Iron Man Triathlon at Wills Park in Alpharetta. He had the time of his life I think. He was so happy to be a part of it and we are so proud that he finished it well! He only did a full practice two times with not much other working toward it in between. The event was a 50 meter swim, 2 mile ride and 500 yard run. A great place to start. :) Afterward, we treated him to Five Guys burgers and two nights later Bruster's Icecream.

Parker still loves his legos and he talks to his brother while he plays. He is in bike shorts because he's in training for the tri-athelon he's doing next weekend.
I thought this comparison would be fun. This one is yesterday - 71/2 weeks and the one below is in Las Vegas - 9 days old. Wow - he's filled out. He smiles a lot (when he's not sleeping!) We are still getting up 2x each night for feeding and the trying to stretch it out really isn't working. One day!! :)
